My Mother's Hands

Museum-quality quilt tops, hand-crafted by my mother, Antoinette or Mama Bush. These elaborate one-of-a-kind quilts and tops can be mounted by your local Museum quality frame as a statement piece of art. For and additional charge, quilt backing of your preference material can be installed for the perfect baby shower, or wedding gift.

My mother found a quilt my grandmother made while going through my grandmother Helen’s home after her passing. As a skilled seamstress who sewed many of Christmas recital outfits and gowns in high school, my mom decided to repair my grandmother’s quilt and unknowingly ignited a new passion in my mom. She quickly transitioned into an expert quilter who drew inspiration from the bold colors in Kente clothe and gardens. Her work has been featured in the Northwest African American Museum, the Tacoma Art Museum, the University of Washington School of Social Work and Wiley University.
