The best afternoon tea experience in New Orleans undoubtedly the Windsor Court’s Le Salon. The hotel just as beautiful as you would expect from a classic New Orleans Hotel. 

Aside from the adorable and delicious pasties, Le Salon has an expansive list of teas curated from many different quality tea brands including one of my personal favorites Dammann Freres, Harney & Sons, and Grace Rare Tea, plus, their own house private blend of black tea, natural vanilla and grenadine flavors which was created by the New Orleans Coffee and Tea Company.  I enjoyed Dammann Freres’ Four Red Fruit which is a black tea with notes of strawberry, cherry, raspberry and red currant—it is the perfect balance of sweet and tart.  I highly recommend.

As for the food, the first course begins with a selection of English tea sandwiches—I had tarragon chicken salad, smoked turkey, truffle egg salad, lobster roll and the classic cucumber.  The house-made scones in the second course were expertly paired with raspberry preserves, Devonshire cream, lemon curd and a fresh vanilla bean whipped cream.  Be sure to save room for their delicious selection of miniature cakes, tartlets, chocolate covered strawberries and truffles.  

In addition, the regular Afternoon Tea available on Saturday and Sundays, Le Salon also offers special tea events for Mardi Gras, Easter, and Mother’s Day.  On Thursdays you can also book Tea & Tarot which needs to be reserved in advance.
